Section 5 Football Hall of FameRobert J. Briggs better known to his friends and family as "Buck" or "Bob", would stand like a Giant Sentinel above those that knew him with quiet peace, grace and dignity. But to those that knew him on the Football Field he was a formitable Mountain of a man to either cross, get around or get thru.To the handful of people that press on in highly competitave athletics, Bob was one of those. He was an All-American Football player at Heidelberg University. He was Drafted by the San Francisco 49er's and played Professional Football for the San Diego Chargers, Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs. Born on April 28, 1945, Bob left us suddenly May 5, 1997. For many of us we still can't believe he is gone. But the memory of this gentle giant will be with us for the rest of our lives. Bob has brought great honor to Rochester, NY and Monroe County. He was Inducted into the Monroe County Football Hall of Fame, April 1st, 1999.  Family, Friends and Colegues were present to Celerate the Life of this Wonderful Person. Bob's Football Hall of Fame Plaque will hang at the Rochester/Monroe County Airport. |
